Mas Comtal, Antistiana Merlot 2016, 13,50 euros
Antistiana was the name given to a Roman area of the Penedès, a stone’s throw from the Mas Comtal vineyards. This wine has undergone fermentation in steel tanks and then aged for 12 months in Hungarian oak barrels. It contains a ripe fruit aroma, earthy-mountain herbs, creamy oak, with a toasty, long, balsamic taste.
Albet I Noya 2000 Lignum Negre Red, 9 euros
A deep cherry red combination of Garnacha, Carignan and Cabernet Sauvignon with aromas of vanilla. It has balsamic hints typical of Garnatxa, and fine cacao and ripe fruit. It is well structured, meaty and full-bodied and mature. If you’re looking for a wine that has lighter fruit, bolder acidity and a subdued palate, then this is your wine.

Albet i Noya Finca La Milana, 22 euros
This wine is a blend of Caladoc, Tempranillo and Merlot. The vines are 25 years old and treated by organic methods. The grapes for La Milana grow in vineyards that the Lord Mila planted more 150 years ago. This is how the wine got its name. The wine ages in new 225 liter French oak barrels for 3 months before resting in the bottle and passes through a light filtration process. It has a juicy palate loaded with fruit and pulp and toasty blackberry and dark plum flavors.
Wine Enthusiast have given this wine 90/100 points.
Llopart Leopardi Vintage Gran Reserva Brut Nature, 22 euros
This cava is a marriage of Macabeo ,Xarel·lo, Parellada and Chardonnay varieties. It has yeasty sourdough aromas that are fresh and mature at the same time. It has a delicious white peach flavor with a mild astringent note. It’s finish is dry, steady and airy. In production of this fine Cava, the wine varieties are blended, then they are fermented a second time. Finally, it rests for a minimum of 48 months in the bottle.
